This year the exploratory rotations are collaborating to give students a greater variety of elective choices. Art and World of Languages are combining to give a cultural emphasis to each art project. The students will be studying Latin, Spanish, French, and German cultures by creating an art project in each genre.
We started by studying Roman Mosaics and creating a symmetrical Roman inspired tile collages. Below are examples of our finished work.
During the month of September we learned some Spanish in World of Languages. In the Art classroom we made plaster maracas. Below is a slideshow of students working with the plaster and our finished work.
The first quarter came to a close at the end of this month. For our final project we created still life paintings with watercolor pencils. We studied the work of French artist Paul Cezanne to gain some inspiration. Below are some examples of our finished work!
