Using color, line, and symbolism, students created pictures that illustrate a feeling or an emotion that might be felt on the first day of school. Can you guess the feeling or emotion that goes along with the projects below?
We are starting out the school year by creating sketchbooks that incorporate the Elements of Design. See some of our completed covers below. We will be using our sketchbooks to take notes and make rough drafts all school year! We also used splatter painting techniques to create our portfolios. For extra credit, some students had time to create some splatter paintings to be framed. Examples are also below!
We have been working on a pointillism project this month. The students have been busily creating landscapes with tiny dots of paint and color mixing. Some of the examples of their finished projects are shown below. We also have been working with photography on the iPads and have taken a walk on the trails for inspiration on our leaf photos. Below are some of our finished photos. We will be taking these photos to help us in our next art project as well!
During the month of November we have been working with texture, printing, and created mixed media collages that incorporated a text of the student's choice. Below are some examples of their work.
We finally finished our 3-D leaf paintings! These paintings were inspired by our photograpy projects back in October. The paintings pop of the paper! Below are some examples of our finished work!
During January, we continued to study realism and symbolism. We turned contour hand drawings into shaded hands and added something that symbolizes who we are to the hand. Below are some finished examples.
The past two months have left us busy with figure drawing. We experimented with abstract and realistic figures. See the photos below for some of our finished work.
