It has been a wonderful start of middle school for this 6th grade Prime Time class. We spent the first few weeks getting to know each other. Now that the school year is in full swing, we have been reading on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. On Tuesday and Friday, we have been doing various activities. We are currently finishing a drawing/painting in which each student decorated the interior of their silhouette with objects from an area of intelligence that they are strong in. Check out the slideshow below to see us at work. Some examples of our finished work are posted below!
During the last few months the students have been weaving bags during our art/craft days. They take a really long time to complete, and the students have been working hard. Below are some examples of the completed bags!
The 6th grade class has been working on Edutype, an online typing class, to enhance their keyboarding skills. During Prime Time, students work on mastering the basic alphabet. When they finish the program, Mrs. West has them type with a blindfold to show off their skills.
